At USC next week, but from a distance...

Next week, Rose Baker and I present Information futures markets for human resource planning and management at the 2006 CEO's Conference on Human Resources Metrics and Analytics, "Measuring Your Talent and Organization: Beyond the Basics," sponsored by the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. Jay Jamrog, Executive Director of the Human Resource Institute at the University of Tampa in St. Petersburg, Florida, will discuss our paper.

We are not traveling to California. Rather, we are making this presentation over audio teleconference and using slide presentation widgets available on the Internet. Coffee, hot and dark

Interesting service...

Show below is an example of a type of service, called SlideShare, for slide shows that is similar to Google video or YouTube:

This is my PowerPoint presentation last week at the U.S. Army War College.

I can see right away that I need to make some changes if I am going to use this free service. I am accustomed to using builds in my PowerPoint slides, but they are not rendered on SlideShare. Coffee, hot and dark

Up over 30,000 visits, and I didn't see it...

Some day last week(?), this blog crept over 30k visits.

The blog has been, and is, fun to work on. I have changed it quite a bit since its inception in September 2003. I thank Howard -- the Motime's wizard, leader, and all around good guy -- for making my Motime experience productive and easy. I have enjoyed various talks I have had with Howard with the Motime Jabber chat client over the last several years from his perch at Lake Como, Italy, to my lair in Pennsylvania.Coffee, hot and dark

The Passmores have Ohio and Pennsylvania blanketed on 2 November 2006...

On 2 November my daughter, Maureen, and I have Ohio and Pennsylvania blanketed with Passmore lectures.

Rose Baker and I will make a presentation, Applications of Stock Markets for Information in Instruction, in the Penn State Teaching and Learning with Technology Innovators Series. Today is Rose's first day in her new job as Program Manager of the new Workforce Assessment Center in Penn State's Office of Economic and Workforce Development. Congratulations to Rose!

Maureen (see "Books Journals, and More: A Closer Look at Maureen Passmore"), who works on the staff of the senior vice chancellor for the health sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, will conduct a poetry reading in Canton, Ohio, at The Enormous Room Reading Series on a campus of Kent State University. Maureen is the author of Stranger Truths, a Kent State University Press book. She is a winner of the 2004 Wick Chapbook Competition, and her poems have appeared in Sycamore Review and The Florida Review, among others. Today is Maureen's birthday. Happy birthday, dear.

I raise my cup of coffee to Rose and Maureen!Coffee, hot and dark
