The cavernous hemangioma...
Had an hemangioma removed surgically today from my right calf.

The surgeon's gloves.

The bag for the pathological specimen.

My leg waiting for surgery.
Hemangiomas are abnormally dense collections of dilated small blood vessels (capillaries) that may occur in the skin or internal organs. A hemangioma is a benign tumor, usually in the shape of a ball, but sometimes a flatter mat, formed by a collection of excess blood vessels in an area. Mine was in the shape of an almond, and it looked like two chicken gizzards when removed for my inspection. Incision about 4 inches long. About 20 stitches to close.
I drank coffee afterwards. No problem. Life is good
