More on baseball...

Many thanks to my good friend, Bob Game, for forwarding this interesting article on financing of sport stadiums in the United States:

http://www.governing.com/articles/3stadium.htm
The article reports skepticism (finally) among public officials who are the object of economic development blackmail by sports teams who want public financing of their private ventures. See my presentation at:

About time people began to say out loud that emperors/team owners have no clothes! Coffee, hot and dark

Attended a concert at Penn State tonight by Sir James Galway, Lady Galway, and the Polish Chamber Orchestra.

Four items in the program, with an encore:

  • The Magic Flutes (A homage to Mozart)--David Overton. A four-piece movement constructed for the Galways based entirely on Mozart's material.
  • Encores--Piece dedicated to Brian Boru; Danny Boy, and another one I did not recognize.
After the concert, Sir and Lady Galway invited children backstage with them.Coffee, hot and dark
